"It started out as a computer game, and its popularity skyrocketed through word of mouth."
PopCap created a modern classic with “Plants vs. Zombies,” one of the most addictive games ever created. Somehow cute, odd little zombies and adorable plants battle it out on your front lawn, and you must keep the zombies from invading the house and eating your brains! Don’t worry; it’s not graphic or scary. It’s more like cute and cuddly.
It started out as a computer game, and its popularity skyrocketed through word of mouth. It become something of a phenomenon with people even making fan videos of its catchy soundtrack. Eventually, it became available for several game systems in addition to the games for Macs and PCs. Finally it was released as an app for the iPod.
This app is missing some of the miniature games that were popular within the original game. Also, the flowers that can be purchased in Crazy Dave are multiple colors in the computer game, but they’re only available in white on the app. Also, the tree that one grows for a long time on the original game is noticeably absent from the app.
Although the iPod app of “Plants vs. Zombies” lacks a few of the mini games and small little features that the original computer game had, it also has perks of its own. The app offers special chains of achievements and awards. This particularly increases the longevity of the game. You can repeat various levels over and over when you have the goal of winning different achievements or awards within a level.
Whichever version of the game it is that you choose, be sure to listen to the catchy tune, “Zombies On Your Lawn,” that plays at the very end of your first completion of the Adventure Level. The video is adorable, and the song that’s sung by Laura Shigihara it’s irresistible.
